What to read before… SECRET WARS (1984-1985)

SECRET WARS (1984-1985) was an entry point for many a newcomer to the Marvel Universe in the mid-80s. And while it was largely designed to stand alone as a self-contained 12-issue maxi-series, Marvel have always had a tendency to build and draw upon their history.

While this ‘Recommended Reading’ list is entirely optional, it will offer you insight into a number of key moments that brought both our heroes and villains to Battleworld – when everyone joined the current team line-ups, why there’s animosity among certain characters, how Klaw ended up on GalactusWorldship, the origin of Doctor Doom‘s scarred face and the mental state of the Molecule Man, among other notable events…

Thank you to The Appendix to the Handbook of the Marvel Universe , Marvel Chronology Project , the Marvel Wiki and, of course the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe for the extra assist!
