The Justice League recently levelled-up by expanding their ranks as Justice League Unlimited! Now, heroes are specially selected to handle any given threat. But, despite the more joined-up approach, the mysterious criminal organisation Inferno is proving to be more than a match for them. No one can figure out which villains are under the hoods worn by Inferno, despite some familiar actions on their part! Have Justice League Unlimited shown themselves to be incapable of dealing with such a threat when they’ve only just made their official debut?
Adding to the complications face by the JLU, Superman has recently faced a future incarnation of Doomsday who’s become the Time Trapper. Despite the long-standing enmity between them, this version of Doomsday seems to want to warn Superman of an impending threat. But if the Man of Steel won’t listen, Doomsday will have to take his concerns to the Justice League!
Crossover: This is a crossover between ‘Batman/Superman: World’s Finest’ and ‘Justice League Unlimited’, though four issues of ‘Justice League: The Atom Project’ act as unofficial tie-ins, dealing with Inferno’s actions that are otherwise behind the scenes, though it’s not easy to marry up the continuity.

| Justice League: The Atom Project #3 (tie-in) In the recent present, the attempts by the Atom (Ray Palmer) and the other Atom (Ryan Choi) to restore Atom Smasher‘s powers ended up boosting the metahuman abilities of the detainees in the Justice League‘s Watchtower who currently host powers belonging to other metas (lost or switched during ABSOLUTE POWER, 2024). To save them, Captain Atom (Nathaniel Adam) absorbed all of their powers. Now, the Atoms save Captain Atom before Dr Elsworth can start the process that would’ve killed him.
