Immediately following the events of THEIR DARK RESIGNS (2020) – essential reading before this event – Bruce Wayne‘s fortune is gone and the Joker has claimed the Batcave, along with Batman‘s entire arsenal! And though Gotham City may have fallen to the Joker and his army of goons – now equipped with Jokermobiles and Jokerplanes – Batman is gaining some surprising new allies. Even if he can triumph over the Clown Prince of Crime, this time, Batman’s already lost…
Major Event: The main story runs through Batman’s own series, along with the Joker War Zone one-shot, though the number of (largely optional) tie-ins with Batgirl, Catwoman, Detective Comics, Nightwing and Red Hood bring this up to a major event.
Collateral Damage: The tie-ins were given the secondary heading ‘Collateral Damage’; these cover Batgirl #47-50, Detective Comics #1025-1026, Nightwing #73-75 and Red Hood Outlaw #48.
Must-Reads: In the Quick List, essential chapters are in bold; in the Full Reading Order and the Fallout section, story arcs/issues marked with a ✔ are essential reading.
Spoilers: The issue descriptions and fallout section contain spoilers, so be warned!
