The United (2014-2015) Reading Order

The world now knows the super-team Unity exist following their actions against the Armour Hunters (during ARMOR HUNTERS). But they’ll have to do some serious PR work before the public will fully accept X-O Manowar as a member due to his attempt to take over Romania (during AT WAR WITH UNITY). What they need is a new member who’s already a winner with the American people.

Little do they know, America’s enemies have also assembled a super-team of their own. And they’re ready to expose the other secret member of the team – the gigantic robot GIN-GR who laid waste to Mexico City. Unity just have to hope the United don’t succeed…

Minor Crossover: This three-part story arc has an intro of sorts in Unity #0, along with a prologue in the form of the Faith one-shot. The three-parter can still be read and understood without those issues, especially as the Faith issue has some continuity problems.

Flashback: During World War II, the Eternal Warrior leads a quartet of specialists called Unit Y – a group funded by the US and Great Britain. Despite warnings from tech specialist Breaker, the Eternal Warrior leads Unit Y on a crucial mission to stop a mobile bomb from reaching London. Dell dies stopping a missile, while Breaker and Alpha are killed when the mobile bomb explodes ahead of time. The Eternal Warrior survives. The US and UK agree to keep Unit Y going, but in secret.
Harbinger: Faith #0 (pp.1-7)
Faith Herbert and John Torkelson (aka Zephyr and Torque of the Renegades) return from their mission in Mexico City (see ARMOR HUNTERS) to Los Angeles, where they learn they’ve become famous! Faith reluctantly agrees to meet Hollywood reps with Torque…
Unity #12 (pp.1-8)
Livewire appears on TV interviews, becoming the public face of Unity. While claiming openness, Unity prep their secret base that houses the repaired mech-colossus GIN-GR.
Harbinger: Faith #0 (pp.8-20)
Faith and Torque struggle to agree on what they want from their lives – both together and as ‘heroes’. Livewire offers Faith membership in Unity.

Unity #13
Gang was a victim of the Beijing psiot experiments. Stock was seeking his missing great-great-grandfather – the WWII hero, Beaker – when the Russians cut off his hands. The Myth is world’s greatest assassin that no one can remember. And Ultimorte was a criminal who was mutated during the attack on Mexico City. Now they’re the United! Unity have a target who may be the United’s handler, but the Myth gets to Unity’s boss, Neville Alcott, first! Faith is unnerved by the level of violence Unity dispense. Neville refuses to give GIN-GR to the United, so the United activate a dirty bomb at Unity’s HQ to blow her up…
Unity #14
GIN-GR survives and stands revealed to the American people as Unity’s secret. Unity battle the United while Ninjak saves Neville from the Myth. GIN-GR absorbs the bomb’s radioactivity and captures the United, then heals Unity’s injuries. The Eternal Warrior and Livewire appear on TV to allay the fears of the American people over GIN-GR’s role in Unity. Faith quits the team due to their violent nature.

Unity carry out their final mission when a Bloodshot Virus is released in New York City by Project Rising Spirit; Unity and the Bloodshot Squad contain the spread of the virus while Bloodshot and Deathmate search for a cure.

Ultimorte returns, clashing with Ninjak once more.
The Forgotten Queen #2 (2019)
The first incarnation of Unity is revealed to have formed in 13th Century Mongolia, clashing with War-Monger for the first time.
