Beast World (2024) Reading Order

The Titans are officially the world’s premiere super-team, having taken the reins from the disbanded Justice League (see THE LEAP). Having stationed themselves in a new Titans Tower, the team have been investigating Brother Blood’s apparent new direction. Now calling himself ‘Brother Eternity’, the Titans’ long-term foe has made an ally of Tempest and appears to be the host for some dark new god.

Green Arrow has just returned from the timestream following the Justice League’s clash with Pariah (during DARK CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS). Amanda Waller has made a deal with some very powerful people and only Arsenal and Cheshire know what she’s planning. But Waller’s already taken them out (during DAWN OF DC). Now she’s setting her sights on the Titans…

Beast Boy is still struggling following his recent ordeal with Deathstroke, including the loss of his eye (during DARK CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS), though it’s since returned thanks to his powers. Beast Boy kidnapped by werewolf Anthony Lupus who wants to use his DNA to cure his lycanthropy. But the ‘cure’ mutates Lupus further, just as his Werewolf side has planned. He bounds off to kill Raven, but Raven’s love for Beast Boy inspires him to break free and defeat Lupus in a giant werewolf form.

Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) returns to Earth-0 find the Justice League have disbanded. He and Green Lantern take out a band of rogue Khunds who are stealing from Ferris Aircraft. Connor Hawke runs scans on the former-League while Ollie talks to them. They know Amanda Waller is planning something. They decide to start their investigation by looking for the missing Arsenal. But they’re being watched by Onomatopoeia

Connor Hawke wants to be the first to let Black Canary know that Onomatopoeia has killed the Green Arrow. Connor tracks the killer down on Brick’s yacht. Onomatopoeia shoots Connor in the head. Brick reveals their connection to Amanda Waller before ‘Onomatopoeia’ unmasks as Green Arrow, having never fallen at his hands in the first place. Brick reveals Waller is giving pardons to anyone who kills a costumed hero (as seen during OUT OF THE SHADOWS). And Arsenal is now working for her…

Brother Eternity (formerly Brother Blood) announces his Forevernauts’ arrival on Saturn’s moon Titan where a temple awaits. Starfire recognises words he uses as ancient Tamaranean. She Boom Tubes to Titan with Donna Troy, Cyborg and Raven, but the Titans escape back to Earth when a colossal conquering creature called a Necrostar tries to destroy them! Starro is the only thing capable of defeating it. The heroes of Earth gather as the Necrostar approaches Earth. Beast Boy risks his life by transforming into a Starro (calling himself ‘Garro’), tackling the Necrostar and giving Cyborg a chance to banish it to the Boomerang Nebula. Now, in Kahndaq, Starfire battles lion-Black Adam.

Nightwing is concerned that no one has seen Damian Wayne and comes up with an incredibly risky plan to save Earth. Still under the Necrostar’s influence (see OUT OF THE SHADOWS), Tempest helps Brother Eternity and a legion of hybrids enter Titans Tower. Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) and Nightwing fight the hybrids, but Nightwing swallows a spore. Starfire arrives at the Tower and confronts Brother Eternity who reveals his true identity as her former-bodyguard Xand’r! And he wants the Necrostar back…

Titans #7
Xand’r reveals the deal he made with the Citadel and the Dominators, years earlier. He ensured the deaths of Starfire’s parents and the fall of Tamaran in exchange for the key to restoring his god, the Necrostar. Cyborg and Raven teleport back to Titans Tower. Cyborg proves to be immune to the Necrostar spore and Starfire punches out Xand’r. Elsewhere, Raven defends Batgirl from Tempest and fox-Nightwing. The team dehydrate Tempest to free him of the Necrostar spore. Starfire frees Nightwing of his spore. Raven punishes Xand’r by sending him to the Phantom Zone.

Pied Piper saves Circuit Breaker from rat-hybrids, they then contain Impulse who’s been turned into a lizard…
Action Comics #1060 [2/3] (pp.4-10)
Dreamer defeats Afterthought before he can free Belle Reve’s prisoners, and gets him to safety. Waller now knows how to manipulate Dreamer and explains her findings to Doctor Hate.
Nightwing #110 (pp.1-28)
Just after Beast World began, the hunter Apex Ava escaped Arkham Tower after killing a Garro spore. Now, Nightwing and Jon Kent search for the missing Damian Wayne. Addison & Aiden Cobblepot steer them towards the Pit – an underground arena where Apex Ava forces cat-Robin (aka ‘Mr Mittens’) to fight a bear-hybrid. John and Nightwing free Damian from his spore and rip the arena from the ground, but Ava transforms into an eagle and escapes.

All Earth’s heroes decide to block the Bureau’s attack. Doctor Hate occupies Raven. Peacemaker kidnaps Chester P Runk for Waller. She forces Lex Luthor to teleport Runk inside Beast Boy and open a black hole, killing them both…

With Garro/Beast Boy dead, Amanda Waller is brought forward by the President as the hero of the hour. She announces the plan to herd the 1,000,000 hybrids together for extermination, despite the President’s wishes. Raven contains her urge to unleash the dark side of herself contained in the gem on her forehead and kill Waller. Instead, she teleports Nightwing and the Flash to the ‘secret’ Bureau of Sovereignty base. Nightwing heads in, defeats Peacemaker and confronts to Waller. He orders Cyborg to shut down all military drones when she refuses to listen. Raven almost unleashes her demon side, but Waller reveals her gem is empty and has been for some time (as implied by Blaze during OUT OF THE SHADOWS). Doctor Hate teleports in and removes their helmet, revealing Raven’s demonic half personified… Dark Raven!
Titans: Beast World #6
Raven teleports Nightwing away before ‘Doctor Hate’ attacks her. Jon Kent lures out Batman’s spore. The heroes are used as bait to draw the spores from the rounded-up hybrids. Nightwing approaches the President directly to heal their trust issues. Donna Troy is given special armour to combat the spores, but Raven quickly alerts them that Beast Boy’s consciousness is in the spores. Starfire steals the Helmet of Hate and Flash throws it into a volcano. Raven returns to Titans Tower having absorbed Dark Raven into the gem. Amanda Waller claims the Hall of Justice for the Bureau of Sovereignty, renaming it the Hall of Order. The gathered spores reform Beast Boy’s body. Raven grabs the arm/tentacle he lost in space and use its neurons to restart Beast Boy, bringing him back to life. The Titans are unaware that the real Raven is trapped in the Soul Gem and Dark Raven is posing as her…
