Aliens vs Predator vs the Omniverse (1991-2019)

Dark Horse Comics picked up the licenses for Aliens and Predator in 1988 and, in 1989, decided pit them both against each other in Dark Horse Presents #34-36. A year later, they battled it out in Aliens vs Predator #1-4 and Dark Horse realised they were onto something.  By the ‘90s, intercompany comics crossovers were all the rage and Batman become the first to be targeted by a Predator in 1991. Following that, the Predators would hunt heroes from other universe – including Dark Horse’s own superhero universe – and the Aliens would make their jump to the DC Universe in 1995 when they met Superman.

The Xenomorphs and Yautja would continue to clash with DC’s heroes, as well as characters from Valiant, Dynamite, Image and even Archie Comics! Dark Horse lost the license to Aliens and Predator in 2019 when Disney bought 20th Century Fox, taking the two deadly species along with them to Marvel Comics. But who knows, maybe we’ll see them clash with other heroes in the years to come…

Thanks to Xenopedia for all their help in putting this together.
